Mineral Town is a story-driven exhibition that explores the power imbalance between Country and the mining industry from a childlike perspective.
This illustration series places a focus on FIFO families, absent fathers, imposed masculinity on young people, and the impact of these on society.
Featuring works by young WA-based artist Charlotte Meagher, this disruptive, community-based artwork challenges traditional curatorial practices. Don’t miss this thought-provoking exhibition.
Mineral Town is opened throughout the festival week from Friday April 5 – 12, 11am – 4pm at Rook ARI and free for all to walk-in. If you’d like to come down and join us for the opening on the Thursday April 4, 5.30pm – 7.30pm, be sure to RSVP below.
The event is wheelchair accessible, welcoming to companion card holders and support persons, and support animal friendly. More Access Info
